Turkish director makes a movie surrounding the Armenian Genocide.
German born Turkish Multi-award winning Director Fatih Akin has made a film surrounding the Armenian Genocide. The film is called “The Cut” and is coming out this fall. The film is made with a large budget and will premiere at the Venice Film Festival held from 27 August to 6 September.
Regarding the subject Fatih remarked: “Turkey, of which I am a part of, is ready for this film”. Unfortunately not everyone is of the same opinion in Turkey and he received death threat on social media websites by Turkish ultranationalists.
