I miss my native home
You are a stronghold of powerful fathers I
You chapel You are our dearly
mothers home
I pray God bless.

You chapel You are our dearly
mothers home
I pray God bless.

Strangeness of my life.
Armenian spirit I live fearless
I will embrace you and me
myself, kparvem
I’m afraid I do not take karots.

I will embrace you and me
myself, kparvem
I’m afraid I do not take karots.

You have taken away, robbed, arrested
are
Your monasteries destroyed my home
native,
Khachkarerd tears klvanam,
I beg you to call, let me
I will go back home.

Khachkarerd tears klvanam,
I beg you to call, let me
I will go back home.

You dartsel a foreign prisoner,
Vordined captured alien,
Warm your heart on ice
formed, frozen
Autumn became spring.

Your warm heart of sarutsner
formed, frozen
Autumn became spring.

You have taken away, robbed, opponents ambush
are
Your monasteries destroyed my home
native,
Khachkarerd tears klvanam,
Call Oh, let me
I will go back home.

Khachkarert tears klvanam,
Call Oh, let me
I will go back home.

I beg you to call, let me
I will go back home …

Take My Heart

This is a very special piece with piano and Duduk instrument ( The Armenian duduk is one of the oldest music instruments in the history of mankind.)

The lyrics of this instrumental ” Take my Heart” is following:

“I wish you were a flower in my garden. I wish you were a bird flying over my garden. I wish you were with me, my love. Stay with me, don’t cause me too much pain. You may take my heart away if you wish, only please don’t leave me. Stay with me and I will do anything for you.”

==============================

Arman Demerjian – duduk, lead vocals
Mihran Kalaydjian- Piano
Aram Kasabian – Lead Guitar
Hratch Panossian – Bass
Samer Khoury – Violin
Tony Amer – Saxophone
Haim Cohen – KeyBoard
Albert Panikian – Trumpet
Nicole Del Sol – Percussion
Dana Debos – Trombone
Roman Calote – accordion

===========================================

The duduk translates the pain and sorrow of the Armenian people and all that we went through…hearing the duduk sends shivers down my spine and through my soul, I think of my ancestors who perished during the Armenian Genocide and our lost lands…especially with “My Home”, this piece is a memorial to the Armenian Genocide, think of the Armenian families being massacred and forced from their homes onto the death marches and outright massacre.

The Unknowable

The Unknowable

Who had children. Who died.
Who found himself lucky after thirty years
and stumbling home realised
it was a simple error.
Who ruled behind the scenes in the Department of Misinformation,
who was later conscripted
to underwrite Armageddon.
Whose hand was lost in a sawmill
and was met again as the strange dust
of a new-found galaxy.
Who migrated to the other world
but came home to bury the dog.
Who divorced and died of alcoholism
in the country town where destiny misplaced him.
Who topped high school, failed everything else
twice, married money, then slept through
the death of three children.
Who was invisible, became a wall, became a street,
entered real estate, bought a city,
retired into owning world opinion.
Who saw his son indicted for reluctance, shackled and maimed,
blamed for the colour of the sky.
Who inscribed his name in the old script,
the one no one reads anymore,
the one where things inscribe themselves
so what they are
reads itself back
in us.
Who was my shadow when daylight was.

I gave you, I gave you my smile my hours of love,

I gave you, I gave you my smile my hours of love,
My days of sunshine, sweetheart April
I gave my warmth, my flower, I gave my pain
I gave my my truth, I gave what I was.

I offered the skin of my hands, my time better
My humble corner, my nights without you.
My life and freedom and a little love.
What little I went, my love, how little I was.
And you’re going, you’re happy, you’ll forget what I was,
And in my window I see the gray morning dress.

I gave you the light of my eyes, my hours of honey
My tears of gall, my breathing.
The light of my dawn, my wood and my home.
The song of my sparrow and some bread.
